AIRPORT TRANSFER

Public transportation

Bus

Aerobus buses operate daily from 8 AM to 11 PM every 20 minutes between the airport and the city center. Buses depart from outside the Arrivals Hall, a little further away from the Taxi Rank.

You can purchase a ticket directly at the airport, from the bus driver or in advance online. All tickets (regardless of which stop one gets off) cost around 3.15 Euros. To reach Altis Grand Hotel from the Airport, choose the line heading towards Cais do Sodré. Your stop to get off will be Av. Da Liberdade. From here you can reach the hotel in 5 minutes by foot.

Taxi

Taxis will be waiting in front of the airport, which will generally charge around 15 Euros for a trip to the city center. The trips should take an average 15 minutes. Beware of taxi drivers approaching you directly – only take official taxis.

CURRENCY

The official currency of Portugal is Euro. Currently USD 1 will get you around EUR 0.95.

Exchange Offices
Exchange offices can be found in abundance around most of the major tourist areas.

TIP: If you have the time, shop around to see who has the best rate – and it never hurts to ask for a better one, especially if you`re changing a large amount.

ATMs
The simplest and most reliable way of accessing your funds is by debit or ATM card. Multibanco ATMs are widespread throughout the city; look for the MB logo. Please check with your bank on fees relating to cash withdrawal or card usage abroad. In terms of shops and restaurants in Portugal it is advisable to carry cash rather than use your debit/credit card as they might not be accepted (Smaller family-run shops, restaurants and guesthouses will only accept Portuguese-issued debit cards as far as plastic goes.)

INTERNET

The hotel offers complimentary Internet access for the group. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants that offer free wireless.  As long as you`re having a coffee or snack they`re more than happy to give you the network password (if it`s even protected).  For more information on specific places visit https://wifispc.com/portugal/distrito-de-lisboa/lisbon.html
